Volunteering for RTP is a deeply rewarding experience that benefits both volunteers and the community. Not only do our volunteers get an excuse to go out and see beautiful Maine, meet some new people, and know that they’re giving back to their local communities, they get to drive their own vehicle instead of one they’re less comfortable with. RTP is glad to offer assistance to help volunteers hit the road by reimbursing them for the miles they drive while they’re volunteering. Previously $0.50 per mile, effective October 1, we have increased our rate to $0.60, which continues to include all miles driven for RTP, such as miles driven to the pick up, and back from the drop off.
