Westbrook, Maine — After more than three decades of dedicated service, Jack Deberadinis, Executive Director of the Regional Transportation Program (RTP), has announced his retirement, effective February 28, 2025. Jack’s leadership has been instrumental in transforming RTP into a vital community resource, providing safe, accessible, and reliable transportation for residents throughout Cumberland County.

Among Jack’s many accomplishments, his crowning achievement was securing the funding and overseeing the successful relocation of RTP into its current facility in Westbrook, Maine — a move that not only improved RTP’s operations but also positioned the organization for considerable future growth.

The RTP Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Don Libby, RTP’s current Manager of Transit Operations, has been promoted to serve as the organization’s next Executive Director. Don has been with RTP for four years, and his deep understanding of RTP’s operations, along with his commitment to service and innovation, makes him ideally suited to lead the organization into its next chapter.

“Jack’s passion and leadership have set a high bar, and we are incredibly grateful for his years of service,” said Molly Tompkins, RTP Board President. “We are also excited to welcome Don into this new leadership role. His knowledge, experience, and vision will help ensure RTP continues to grow and thrive in the years ahead.”

RTP celebrated Jack’s retirement at a small gathering on March 3, 2025, where staff and board members reflected on his many accomplishments and contributions to the community.
